Center of Power Electronics Converters Laboratory

ENG 319

Center of Power Electronics Converters Laboratory (ENGR 317): 10 Workstations

The Power Electronics lab is developed for research purposes and to serve both undergraduate and graduate student projects. This lab also supports the power electronic classes in both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Power Electronics lab supports the following research areas:
a)   High power EVs off-board charging topologies, to reduce the EVs charging time while extending the EVs range.
b)   Design and development of EVs on-board power electronic architectures to enhance the EVs performance while increasing the storage devices lifetime.
c)   The development of photovoltaic (PV) power processing technologies for grid inverters and maximum power point trackers.
d)   Power factor correction circuits for high power loads (e.g. EVs charging) and for low power loads (e.g. LED drives).
e)   Developing battery management system (BMS) efficient schemes for EVs and solar power applications.
